During this program, Terri Kirby Hathaway reveals the origins of various holes found in common beach items, like sand and seashells, by asking the question, “whose hole is this, how did they make it, and what purpose does it serve?” A passionate beach-comber herself, Terri has been a marine educator on the Outer Banks for 35 years. She has been in her current role, Marine Education Specialist at North Carolina Sea Grant, for 15 years. Additionally, Hathaway is active in numerous professional organizations from the local to national level and is a co-author of “North Carolina’s Amazing Coast”, a children’s’ book featuring habitats, flora, and fauna of the state’s coastal areas.
